HIGH VISIBILITY TAPE CONFIGURATION - MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

DAY CLASS D (DAYTIME USE): garments in this class are designed to provide high visibility during daylight hours. They typically use fluorescent materials that stand out in natural light, making workers more noticeable in outdoor environments during the day.

NO CHANGES - THE CLASSIFICATIONS STAYS THE SAME (NO TAPE).

The New AS 4602.1:2014 version has 3 new additional levels within the Day/Night and Night Classes.

LEVEL 3

New levels of minimum requirements for tape configuration in Day/Night and Night have been introduced. The levels are the same for Night as in Day/Night. The difference is Night is non high visibility fabric.

DAY/NIGHT CLASS D/N (DUAL CONDITIONS): garments in the Class Day/Night category are suitable for both day and night use. They combine fluorescent materials for daytime visibility with retroreflective materials to ensure visibility at night, providing comprehensive visibility protection across a range of lighting conditions. NIGHT CLASS N (NIGHT TIME USE): Class Night garments focus on visibility in low-light or nighttime conditions. They incorporate retroreflective materials that reflect light back toward its source, such as vehicle headlights, making the wearer visible in dark environments.

Shoulder bands of tape and a single horizontal band of tape encircling at waist level. Or Shoulder bands of tape continued to waist level (h-band layout) Or Second horizontal band of tape encircling the body at mid-chest level.

Level one requirements met. Plus; One horizontal band of tape encircling each arm; located below the underarm, but above the elbow. Or Located below the elbow point, but above the cuff.

arm; one horizontal band of tape shall encircle the arm, located below the underarm, but above the elbow a second horizontal band of tape shall encircle the arm, located below the elbow point, but above the cuff.
