Safety Markings for Obstacles and Hazardous Areas

Whether for everyday or emergency purposes, labelling obstacles and hazardous areas is an integral part of comprehensive safety identification. A colour design is recommended for day-to-day operations, but for workplaces where no complex safety lighting is installed, a safety marking in the form of photoluminescent marking tape is preferable. The photoluminescent tape is particularly helpful in ensuring an orderly evacua- tion in emergency situations and when there is power failure or smoke because it makes obstacles and hazardous areas reasonably visible.
