WORKING ON ELECTRICITY PYLONS OR METAL STRUCTURES
WORKING ON ELECTRICITY PYLONS OR METAL STRUCTURES
Pylons are metal structures typically used to support telecommunication and cableway systems, which generally present stability problems for workers due to the limited surface area available for foot placement. It is often necessary to access pylons to carry out ordinary maintenance on the pylon itself. In most cas es, the pylon will have vertical anchor lines that assist the worker in climbing up. Based on the work to be done, it is possible to work using a fall protection or positioning system. When an anchor line is not present, the technique chosen for the ascent will determine the PPE to be adopted.
