EN 342 STANDARD AND THERMAL MANIKIN TESTING

EN342 protection against cold is the most comprehensive standard test method for clothing designed to protect you in cold conditions. The principle test uses a heated manikin, a thermal insulation value is determined from the power required to maintain the manikin at a constant temperature.

This insulation value of the clothing, the activity level of the wearer and the temperature of the environment can be used to estimate the maximum duration of wear.
