CERTIFIED TESTING METHODS FOR THE FOOD INDUSTRY
The MASCOT® FOOD & CARE range is designed for industries where optimal hygiene is essential. Therefore, all products are tested to withstand industrial washing and subsequent tunnel drying with tests according to the methods in EN ISO 15797. All products live up to the HACCP principles, and the vast majority are approved according to DIN 10524, which includes very specific requirements for design, function and fabric in workwear.

CLOTHING THAT COMPLIES WITH THE HACCP PRINCIPLES ARE SPLIT INTO THREE RISK CLASSES: Low hygiene risk: Risk class 1 Clothing in risk class 1 have a relatively low protective function. The clothing is used for work in environments where there is a minimal risk of coming into contact with foodstuffs, as they are sufficiently protected by their packaging. High hygiene risk: Risk class 2 Clothing in risk class 2 have a high protective function. The clothing is used when handling perishable food which does not require further processing, as well as food that is not wrapped in packaging.
Highest hygiene risk: Risk class 3 Clothing in risk class 3 have a very high protective function. The hygiene risk is at the highest level when handling items like unpackaged, ready-to-eat and perishable foods.
All workwear in the MASCOT® FOOD & CARE range meet the highest hygiene risks in risk classes 1-3.

ZONE CLASSIFICATION
Many of the products in the MASCOT® FOOD & CARE range can be used in areas where clear zoning is required. The tops have a colour marking on the shoulders that easily indicates which department an employee belongs to. There are four different zoning colours to choose from: red, blue, green, and yellow.

TESTED FOR INDUSTRIAL WASHING
When looking for products that are especially well suited for industrial washing in MASCOT’s range, look for the ProWash® symbol. All of the products in MASCOT® FOOD & CARE have been tested to withstand industrial washing in accordance with EN ISO 15797.
You will find a ProLabel on these products which contains wash and care instructions for the industrial laundry.

CLEAR SIZE LABELLING Keep track of sizes with a unique sizing system. The sizes are marked with a different colour, so that the size is easy to spot when an employee has to find their clothing. The leg length of the trousers is also marked with symbols: The leg length is indicated by means of one, two or three lines in the waistband on both sides of the trousers. The size marking only applies to trousers, with the exception of those with a fixed waistband.

UNIQUE FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT AND HIGH COMFORT
ULTIMATE STRETCH is our term for products that are elastic in all directions. MASCOT’s stretch fabric is so flexible that it’s barely noticeable on the skin. This contributes to ultimate functionality, freedom and flexibility throughout the working day. The stretch fabric combines light weight with a very high wear resistance. In the MASCOT® FOOD & CARE range, look for products in fabric 511 when looking for products with ultimate freedom of movement. Fabric 511 has been developed with the market’s most advanced elastic fibre, which means that the fabric can withstand industrial washing up to 85 °C and tunnel drying.
