Corrective Procedure: In such a case, just press the wire rope inside the block, pressing it against the spring in the upward direction till a “click” sound is heard (see fig.) or alternatively. The user can gently tap the block with his fist, or shake it up slightly, till the “click” sound of release of the brakes is heard. The lanyard can now reeled out freely, and is ready to be use again.
