HONEYWELL SALISBURY DIELECTRIC FOOTWEAR USER INFORMATION Honeywell Salisbury natural rubber footwear provides critical protection for workers from step potential risks at the work site. However, in order to maintain this level of protection and ensure long life, it is essential that footwear be properly used, inspected and stored.
USE OF DIELECTRIC FOOTWEAR
each day. Below are examples of what to look for during inspection:
• Footwear should be stored in the natural shape and not be folded, creased, inside out, or compressed. Footwear should not be stored when wet or dirty. It is preferable to store footwear inside bags, boxes or containers that are designed for and used exclusively for overshoes and/or boots. CAUTION: Dielectric Footwear should only be used by “Qualified Employees: as defined in OSHA 1910.269; trained in and familiar with the safety related work practices, safety procedures and other safety requirements associated with the use of this type of equipment. • •
• Any holes, tears, punctures, embedded objects or cuts on the footwear. Users should examine the outside, inside and the sole of the footwear. Any changes in texture, such as inelasticity, swelling, softening or hardening. Any area inside the footwear where the lining has worn away. Footwear with contaminants should be cleaned before use. If the contaminates cannot be removed, then the footwear shall not be used. If the insulating properties of the footwear are suspected, they shall be removed from service. They shall not be reissued for use until they have been retested at an electrical testing facility. • •
Dielectric Footwear is designed and tested to provide insulation and isolation to the wearer from current that may pass through the user’s feet. Footwear should be used along with other personal protective equipment specified by industry and company protocols to reduce the risk of electrical shock and injury. Dielectric footwear comes in different ratings, covered by multiple design and test standards. footwear is proof tested @ 20 kV, with water as the medium for the electrodes outside the footwear. Note: The ASTM F1116 standard outlines the test method to be used. With this standard, the wet test area extends beyond the sole of the footwear. 2. ASTM F2413 – The outsole of each piece of footwear is proof tested @ 18 kV, with a dry material as the electrode inside and outside the footwear. Note: The ASTM F2412 standard outlines the test method to be used. The electrical test area is limited to the sole of the footwear. 3. Electrigrip™ dielectric boots have also been tested and certified compliant by UL to the CSA Z195 standard. 1. ASTM F1117 - Each piece of
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Use household soap/liquid cleaner and warm water to clean the footwear, rinse thoroughly and dry. Do not use cleaners that contain petroleum products. If the lining of the footwear is wet, it should be allowed to dry completely before the next use.
Below are the recommended storage guidelines:
Store in a cool, dry location. The location shall be free from chemicals, oils, solvents, heaters, steam pipes and sunlight.

INSPECTION
In accordance with safe work practices, insulating footwear should be inspected for damage before use

tested?
Q. What is the difference between an overshoe / overboot and the Electrigrip boots? A. Dielectric overshoes and overboots are worn over standard work boots or steel toe work boots for protection against step potential and electrical shock. Electrigrip dielectric boots have been designed to be worn directly over socks. These boots include critical safety features normally found in work boots, such as impact and compression resistance along with a protective toe cap and a puncture resistant sole. However, the Electrigrip boots are also rated for use in hazardous environments with voltage up to 20kV. Users will only need to maintain one set of protective footwear, which provides both dielectric protection and remarkable comfort, flexibility, and performance.
A. 100% of the Electrigrip boots are tested to the 20kV rating, using the test method outlined in the ASTM F1116 standard with water electrodes. The RFID tag is located above the water line and will not be damaged when following this recommended test procedure.
Q. How was the Arc Flash testing performed?
A. The ASTM F2621 / F2621M 19 standard does not directly cover protective footwear. The boots were tested using the general setup and procedure for the evaluation of finished products in accordance with ASTM F2621M-19 and then evaluated against the basic acceptance criteria within the standard. No evidence of melting, dripping, and ignition was found after a 40 cal/cm2 exposure.
Q. Where are the Electrigrip boots made?
A. The Electrigrip boots are made in China.
Q. What is the material composition for the Electrigrip boots? A. The upper boot and outsole are made from premium natural vulcanized rubber. The inner lining of the Electrigrip boots is quick drying SBR (styrene butadiene rubber) that is lightweight and helps feet stay dry and healthy. A. The Electrigrip boots are available in US sizes 5-16. The boots are offered in whole sizes only. Refer to the Electrigrip Sizing Chart for instructions on how to select the proper size boot for all day comfort and performance. Q. What sizes are available?
Q. Are the Electrigrip boots a Honeywell Muck ® boot model?
A. Electrigrip boots were designed around our popular Honeywell Muck ® last and feature a proven fit with a locking ankle to prevent heel slip. Manufacturing of the Electrigrip boots occurs at the same facility that produces Honeywell Muck boots.
Q. What is the difference between the standard Electrigrip boots and the thermal Electrigrip boot models?
A. Both models include the same value added features and electrical certifications. The thermal models include a thicker lining to keep feet warm and protected in cold and wet
Q. Will the RFID label be damaged when boots are
Q. What is the harmonized code for the Electrigrip boots?
A. The harmonized code for the Electrigrip boots is 6401.92.9030.
Q. How are the boots packaged?
A. Each pair of boots is boxed and sold individually. The boxes have the following dimensions: Sizes 5-8 = 480 mm length, 340 mm width, 115 mm height Sizes 9-10 = 480 mm length, 360 mm width, 125 mm height Sizes 11-16 = 510 mm length, 380 mm width, 135 mm height Cartons include 4 pairs of boots. The cartons have the following dimensions: Sizes 5-8 = 490 mm length, 500 mm width, 365 mm height Sizes 9-10 = 530 mm length, 500 mm width, 385 mm height Sizes 11-16 = 570 mm length, 530 mm width, 405 mm height

HONEYWELL SALISBURY ELECTRIGRIP TM DIELECTRIC BOOTS SIZING CHART
These helpful instructions will ensure that the correct size boot has been selected for all day comfort and performance.
Step 1: Put on the socks that will be worn with your Electrigrip boots. It is recommended that measurements be taken at the end of the day when the foot is at its widest point. Step 2: Trace an outline of each foot onto a sheet of paper. Do not angle the writing instrument, as that may alter the measurement. Step 3: Measure the longest and widest parts of each foot outline. Step 4: Using the sizing chart, select the size that is the closest size above your largest foot measurement.
