CLEANING YOUR FACEPIECE 5400, 7600 & RU6500 SERIES FULL FACE MASKS Air Purifying Respirators
DURING BREAKS AND BETWEEN A MORE THOROUGH CLEANING, A REFRESHER WIPE PAD MAY BE USED TO CLEAN THE PORTION OF THE MASK THAT COMES IN CONTACT WITH YOUR FACE. FOLLOW THE STEPS BELLOW FOR A THOROUGH CLEANING. CAUTION Do not use abrasive cleaners on the lens. Abrasives can remove the protective coating from the lens, making it susceptible to scratch and chemical degradation. WARNING Never allow cartridges or filters to come in contact with water o r cleaning and sanitizing solutions. Moisture can damage the cartridges or filters. Failure to comply these warnings will result in the risk of serious injury, illness or death. 5400 RESPIRATOR 1. Remove the respirator’s components. a. Remove the oral/nasal cup by gently pulling it away from the speech diaphragm housing (Figure 1).
b. Pull out the inhalation valves and valve seats in the oral/nasal cup (Figure 2). c. Pull the exhalation guard off of the exhalation assembly by tugging firmly (Figure 3).
d. From the front, turn the exhalation assembly counterclockwise 45 degrees until it stops, and then pull the assembly out of the lens. It is easier to turn if held by two hands, one inside the mask (Figure 4).
e. Remove the orange exhalation valve from the exhalation valve seat (Figure 5). f. Push in on the cartridge connectors to unseat them from the gaskets (Figure 6). g. Pull the cartridge gaskets out of the lens (Figure 7).
