Passive Earmuffs – Steel Wire and Dielectric The best passive earmuff is the one that delivers the most comfort and protection all shift long. The Passive Earmuff range includes two distinct categories – Steel Wire and Dielectric. The Steel Wire range is constructed using steel wire in the headband components. The Dielectric range is constructed from non- conductive materials, with a robust ABS plastic headband which does not conduct electricity. Dielectric earmuffs suit nearly all workplaces, especially electrical and mining environments. Active Earmuffs Active earmuffs use electronic components to amplify or attenuate certain sounds, with additional features such as electrical audio input.
