The Fibrelight Cradle is a Man Overboard Recovery Device that has the versatility to recover casualties into many different types and sizes of vessels.
The Fibrelight Cradle is a maritime recovery system that can be operated by a single crewmember. The Cradle also serves as a boarding ladder, scramble net and stretcher. The Fibrelight Cradle is lighter, more compact , better value and more versatile than any comparable devices on the market. The Cradle requires only regular inspections and minimal maintenance, so there is no requirement to pay for annual servicing. The Cradle has been primarily designed for use by rescue craft, rigid inflatables, ship lifeboats and marinas, however it is currently in use on many other vessels and in diverse industries. The Fibrelight Cradle enables MOB recovery by one end of the Cradle being secured to the craft and the outboard end being held away from the boat by hand or boat hook. The MOB is then guided into the Cradle and once securely in the outboard end of the Cradle the casualty is then hauled in rung by rung. Using this parbuckling action the MOB is safely rolled up and over the side of the craft.

FIBRELIGHTMOB Recovery Cradle
The standard dimensions are 1.3 metres wide by lengths of up to 15 metres, however bespoke sizes are available to suit the individual needs. A 3m Cradle weighs as little as 5 kilograms. The recommended size of the Cradle should be at least double the length of the freeboard height plus 1 metre, in order to allow the Cradle to reach the water and the outboard end of the Cradle to be held at deck height. The Cradles are constructed using carbon fibre rods enclosed in flanged tubular webbing. When the webbing tubes are fitted and sewn at right angles between the double thickness pockets of a second webbing, an incredibly strong structure is created. In this way the rod is fully supported within the vertical members of the Cradle. ISO 799 strength test, as part of the SOLAS approval programme, required successive rungs to be loaded to over 900kgs and sustained for one minute without failure. The Cradle construction has also been tested and approved for thermal aging, weathering, UV light, oil resistance and practical performance.
The following additional extras are offered:
– ATTACHMENT SLINGS; to add length and convert the cradle from 6-point linkage to 2 or 3-point linkage – BALLAST RUNG; to offer sinkage in the middle rungs of the Cradle, particularly useful when operated from a davit
– EXTENDABLE RESCUE POLE; to assist with bringing the MOB towards the Cradle - LOOP-THROUGH BAG; this enables the Cradle to be permanently attached whilst in its weather-proof carrier

FIBRELIGHT Emergency Ladder The Fibrelight Emergency Ladder is a tested and approved life saving device in line with SOLAS regulations. The Ladder has been accepted by the MCA (UK Flag) to be used on all vessel types. The Fibrelight Emergency Ladder is a strong durable device in use across the world on merchant ships, offshore support vessels, navy warships, super yachts and on land in overhead cranes. The ladder has been designed for use in emergencies ; it can be carried and then deployed by a single person in less than a minute, as it is both lightweight and straightforward to use. The ladder is a standard width of 60 c m and is produced in lengths of 2 - 6 0 metres, in either Orange or Black. The ladder contains no metal parts and therefore is suitable for deployment on vessels or platforms with fire risks. A 30-metre ladder weighs less than 30 kilograms. With a natural step action the double rung ladder is considerably easier and safer to use. The ladder is both faster to climb and more importantly to descend than a single rung ladder.

FIBRELIGHT Self Recovery Ladder
KEY FEATURES:
SPECIFICATIONS:
• Lightweight • Portable • No requirement for annual servicing • 3 years manufacturers warranty • MCA approved
• Width: 60c m • Length: 1m - 3m Weight when stored in bag: 1.47 kg per metre • Safe working load: 600 kgs
TheFibrelight Self Recovery Ladder, based on the MCA Approved Fibrelight Emergency Ladder, has been designed as a life-saving device for fishermen operating vessels on their ownor with limited crews. The Fibrelight Self Recovery Ladder is kept in a burst-zip bag which is permanently attached to the side of the vessel. An adjustable cord allows the ladder to be pulled from the bag by a user who has fallen overboard, the bottom of the ladder falls into the water and the casualty can climb back into the vessel without any further assistance. The ladder has been designed for use by a single person and can be deployed in seconds. The ladder has a width of 600mm and is manufactured in half metre lengths from 1-3 metres. The ladder has no mechanical moving parts and as such requires no maintenance other than visual inspections. The rungs are made of GRP although the bottom rung is made of stainless steel in order that the ladder sinks to a level in line with the user’s foot.

FIBRELIGHT Folding Stretcher
The Folding Stretcher offers a compact solution for mobile rescue teams; it folds down much smaller than any comparable rigid stretcher on the market. The profile of the Folding Stretcher enables it to be carried alongside standard first aid kit without adding bulk to the user. The stretcher is fully adjustable to accommodate a wide range of sizes up to 2m in length. The five horizontal straps securely contain the casualty and the sliding head and neck support enhance the spinal protection. The lowest strap is especially long to allow a figure of eight wrap to be used around the lower limbs to prevent the casualty from twisting. The simplistic and modern design allows a casualty to be recovered with minimal effort for the rescuers and maximum support for the casualty. The Folding Stretcher has been designed for use by mobile rescue teams, military units or stretcher users looking for a space saving or lightweight option. The Fibrelight Folding Stretcher is a lightweight stretcher that fits into a backpack or shoulder bag. When deployed it offers rigid spinal support for the casualty and a lightweight solid frame to assist the rescuing team by easing the burden of extraction.
