Since our inception, HexArmor has worked hand-in-hand with our customers to deliver the most innovative and effective technologies to keep people safe. Born out of hard-earned experiences, HexArmor PPE solutions are the direct result of input and insights gained from the workers who manufacture lumber, wood and pulp & paper products, and put themselves in harm’s way every day. Get in the Zone You’ve probably seen people pour water over their head to cool off, but there is actually more to this practice than just odd behavior.

COOLING ZONES

• The body contains key cooling zones located on the head, neck and wrist to name a few

• When cold water, ice or a cooling mechanism is applied to these areas, the body feels more immediate cooling relief compared to what the other areas of the body provide • ColdRush ® was designed to be applied to these key cooling zones, making you feel more cool and comfortable in high heat environments

The Technology Behind Being Cool. What’s the secret behind our innovative, non-drip ColdRush ® material? Our eVapora™ fabric technology quickly absorbs moisture up to six times its weight, retains it, and allows it to slowly and naturally evaporate, which produces a cooling effect on the skin for hours. The result is cooler and more comfortable workers. Once in contact with the skin, ColdRush ® continually wicks perspiration away and stores it in microcavity moisture reservoirs, which provide up to four hours of active cooling. When the fabric dries out, simply wet it again to reactivate the cooling effect. At the end of the day, simply throw ColdRush ® in the washer and get ready to use it again.

WhenWork Gets TooHot... Every year thousands of workers are affected by heat-related illnesses. Heat related illness occurs when the body cannot cool itself enough to maintain a healthy temperature. When the body is unable to cool itself by sweating, several heat-induced illnesses can occur including heat cramps, heat exhaustion and even heat stroke. Working in a hot environment not only increases the risk of heat-related conditions, but also increases the risk of workplace accidents which are costly not only in terms of workplace recordables, but also to the health of those affected. In order to prevent heat-related illness, OSHA recommends the following: • Stay Hydrated by drinking plenty of water even if you’re not thirsty. • Avoid alcohol, caffeine and high sugar drinks that contribute to dehydration. • Stay cool by avoiding direct sunlight, wearing lightweight, light-colored clothing, and resting in the shade. Personal cooling products, in combination with these best practices, will help keep employees cool, comfortable and productive. Put Your ColdRush ® toWork • Simply wet down and wring out the ColdRush ® to provide a comfortable, cooling effect • Wear for two to four hours without having to re-wet— even if you aren’t constantly sweating • Expose the ColdRush ® to air between wettings

We surveyed 100 workers and found that 93 percent regularly experience heat stress while on the job, and according to the CDC, extreme heat causes an average of 658 work and non work-related deaths a year in the United States. If you’re working out in the heat, or managing employees in high-heat environments, be sure to take proper precautions, including checking the heat index, setting up effective water and rest breaks, and using high-quality cooling personal protective equipment (PPE).

ColdRush ® personal cooling products can be counted on to provide a comfortable cooling effect, but they are not medical or treatment devices. When used correctly, ColdRush ® will help users be more productive and comfortable on the job site.
